This might have been the longest absence from my blog, and I’ve missed it. In the back of my mind, I knew that I haven’t posted in a while, but I was still surprised when I saw that my last post was at the end of September. My absence was due to many reasons though- thankfully, all good ones.
Over the past few months, I defended my PhD, graduated from Stanford, packed our entire home with my husband (a process neither of us enjoyed or willing to go through again any time in the near future), and moved back to Saudi Arabia and started working.
We’ve been in Saudi Arabia for a month now, and I still haven’t processed all the changes that my family and I have been through. My mental space is filled with the list of errands that need to get done in order to settle into our new lives. But we are making progress, slow and steady. My return to writing is a good sign of more mental clarity.
The journey we’ve been through since the beginning of Fall cannot fit into one post. My hope, once I feel settled and have a more predictable routine, is to break it down into a series of posts, each addressing a certain part of our journey into our current lives.
In the meantime, my down time includes lots of Netflix, and for now, that’s good enough.
